Childbirth
When women first got magic, of course one of their first demands was to avoid death by childbirth. The indigenous beings that tried to bring humans to their level of civilization readily granted that. So, even if a woman chews gerda, if for some reason her body would not produce a healthy child without endangering the mother, pregnancy will not take.
Childbirth therefore has no fear in it. Women usually have female relatives for preference, or a midwife, to ease things along and help afterward.
