Story: Fiction and History

Discussion of attitudes toward fiction versus truth, archives, etc.

Storytelling, storytellers--professional as opposed to stories people tell one another.

Plays--difference between court (written) and traveling (usually evolving, inherited storylines, no author)

Myths and legends (few etiological myths, and all similar due to Mage Council history); popular tropes

Individual cultural myths and tropes, such as Marloven Peddler Antivad (emphasis on stranger stories, wherein stranger is usually duped, or dishonest, or a fool, and stranger stories in which the stranger is wise, solves problems, gives gifts that change situations, and how the popularity of these tales reflects cultural ebb and flow: during bad times Peddler Antivad was a popular good figure, and during relatively good times, he was a butt and a goat)
