Capital: Nalaural (trade town)

Once a sizable kingdom, it's always lain under the shadow of Chwahir hunger for expansion. The only thing keeping it from falling to the Chwahir is the barrenness of the high plains above the sea. The winds here are almost continuous, the ground rocky and difficult to plant anything in. The population is almost all in the very southern corner; two rivers form divisions that became three kingdoms after the breakup of the empire, when the Guild Council guaranteed cuts in customs charges for any kingdoms that voluntarily broke up. In recent years there has been a gradual drifting toward reunion.

Cedar is the main export, but the Arlanders made excellent carriages of scavenged wood, exported all over the eastern end of the continent.
