This is a goodsized kingdom straddling the northwest and the southwest reaches of Goerael. The people mostly speak the Sartoran variant called Erael, but will often speak southern tongues as well. For cultural leadership they face north, and their wealthy young long to disport themselves along Sky Lake.

Their main city, Poretal, lies on a river feeding into the great Veyah, which drains out of Sky Lake to the sea. This river forms the border not just of Hanvyah, but it's a psychological border between north and south, with some bad history back in the past during Goerael Hael's more venturesome days. Farming, sea trade at Talve Harbor, where ore is shipped out, are main economic supports.

Principal family is called Alfandar.
