Mearne's history is mostly tied up with Barban--they share the same tongue, and have shared the same governments--but a marriage treaty awarded this land to a family called Amalagh. The land is mostly farm, but in the hills there is mining for gold, and there's a sense of old magic there that encourages the stranger races to wander through. It hasn't much history in the blood and sword sense, but it's a lovely, quiet place to live.
