Ruling Family: Iagin (who are related to morvende and to maulan)

Solem was an old pirate hangout, though the more bloody pirates often came to summary and mysterious ends. This is a remote polity, with some mysterious pockets that (locals say) will sned you from a cave up to the lake, whether you will or no. And what happens to you at the lake? No one has ever found out.

Few tourists test that challenge--or if they do, they are never heard of again.

Very exotic woods grow here, and ship building is the main trade with outsiders. The people tend to stick to themselves, and its said that maulan and morvende have huge enclaves here.
