Eleyad, lying in deeply forested area east of Nelsaim, is mostly peaceful, with a great deal of trade and cultural influence from maulan (there is a very old platform city here) and morvende.

The western farmlands peacefully abutt on Nelsaim, divided along ancient family hedgerows. Eleyad withdrew from Nelsaim over the question of militia, specifically they did not want to train their young with swords, and so, when it became a royal decree, the leading families withdrew from the kingdom, but maintained peaceful relations.

After the disastrous Norsunder war, though Nelsaim's militia did not defend the kingdom, the feeling still grew that protection might not be a bad thing; it and Daraen is drifting back toward reunion.
