Daraen is friend in Sartoran, a hint that this polity is based on peaceful co-existance. It is mostly forested, sparsely inhabited by humans other than maulan and morvende, and withdrew, like Eleyad when the militia system was put in place. That was in name only, to avoid militia service: there was no war with Nelsaim, and probably the reunion will take place, with militia service excused, as the locals all withdraw into the forests at the first sign of trouble.

The main export here is scavenged redwood.
