A completely artificial polity, a duchy since the early 4700s as buffer between Mhen Drun and Soldan Anor. The dukes and duchesses tend to use their own name, Hemaegh, rather than Khiv (which has been traced to Lezghian prigins, meaning now ruin in the local tongue.)

Largely plains, with farmland up against the western hills. Horses, sheep, goats are raised, and the population is not large.
