This bump on the land above Rhengal was for a long time a part of Rhengal, which in turn had been an Old Sartoran outpost before the Fall. It fostered morvende, who fostered the arts.

When Damondaen took over this area, Teredaln was awarded to an ambitious younger son who kept trying to see that he'd inherit the throne, only he hadn't the desire to kill his brother directly. Once he was established as Prince of Teredaln, he threw himself into the arts with even more energy, rebuilding the music school at Lassen, the capital, to so pleasing a design that it remains pretty much inchanged to this day. A marriage with the Kervael family of Rhengal has kept the continuity in the government, even after Damondaen released control of Rhengal in the last century.
