The name comes from weorc in Venn, or workers and haenep or hemp--this was part of a Venn colony. (See Erkhain.)

After the area was divided between three siblings of an unbeatable warrior clan leader, things settled down more or less. Vahkeinen is a farm and sea trade area. Its restless youth is sent south to train and to patrol the Land Bridge to keep brigands out.
