Ahshtanland, like Ogan, was never part of the Marlovan empire. It's a very rocky, rough terrain, settled mostly by Toaran raiders and traders, then by Sartoran same. The main language is one of the fractured linguistic composites typical for Toar, which kept the people from interacting much with the Sartorans. The forest folk keep to themselves, coming down once a year to sell scavenged wood and get supplies; the rest of the economy is supported by fishing and by the usual trade support typical in harbors.
