The Glenereth family is an off-shoot of the Montros family of old Everon, before it split again. They left Everon (there are various stories about why) and settled on Goerael, ending up in Ralanor Veleth, where martial abilities were welcome. There they stayed in relative obscurity until trouble in the 4730s brought one of them to the king's eye, after which Markham Glenereth became the king's right hand man. Markham's son Lexan was later sent south for schooling, where he met up with the scion of the Montros family, who claimed cousinship.
